Story
Honey is five years old and she had spent most of her life on the balcony of a London Flat. She came to Sesaw for rehoming just before Christmas 2013, weighing 46 kg and although unfit, she was keen to go for her walks and was obviously a very loving dog. She was taken to a foster home where she would have regular gentle excercise - and a strict diet. Three weeks later she's weighed in at 41.2 kg, so she's on the right track!
We would like to find Honey a happy new home where her diet and excercise regime can continue - call 01787 210888 for more details. In the meantime we'd like to encourage her (and her foster carer, who is in competition with Honey on the weight loss programme but so far is losing by 0.5kg!) to keep up the good work, and to support Sesaw in it's continued efforts to help animals like Honey to achieve fitness and good health when they embark on their new lives.
If you think your pet may be overweight, please ask your vet for advice before they turn into another monster! Excess weight is detrimental to health, putting strain on the heart and other organs, as well as the joints. It may even shorten life expectancy - 30 to 40% of dogs are overweight so it is vital to act quickly at the first signs of weight gain so that overweight does not turn into a long-term problem for your dog.
