The CFK charity is a local charity that helps support children & their families affected by Cystic Fibrosis at Queen Alexandra hospital, Portsmouth. For just our family alone, they have donated 2 brand new state of the art nebulisers (the current ones for the NHS are big, loud & not very portable. They also take up to 3 times as long!!) & a trampoline for the family so we could all get involved with Melanies physio therapy. They help raise money to buy much needed equipment & things to help make the long & often lonely stays in hospitals that bit more bearable. The nebulisers alone are around 500-800 pounds each! The elements that need replacing every couple of months cost around 25-30 pounds & this isn't covered by the NHS! I'd like to give back by raising enough money to buy a new nebuliser or more if possible! They really have helped my family & help Melanie enjoy life as a normal every day child, for that I will be forever greatful!!
