We fund medical research to treat and eliminate kidney disease.

Story

On the 2nd March 2011, my father, Brian Tyne, underwent major surgery and received a new kidney via organ transplantation. It was my sister, Kerry Tyne, who donated one of her kidneys for our Dad. I am both happy and extremely blessed to report that both Kerry and Brian are healthy and recovering well from this life changing operation (well two operations really).

I am enormously proud of my Sister's selfless act of love and devotion, and also of my Dad's courage and patience in waiting for this opportunity of a new beginning.

The support and care our family received by the South West Thames Renal Unit was absolutely second to none, and as a sign of my deep felt appreciation I am taking part in a series of sporting charity events over the forthcoming months in order to raise money and awareness for the fantastic job St Helier Hospital, and of course its dedicated staff, do for the renal patients awaiting organ transplantation or donation, and also for those receiving pre/post operative care. The money raised will go directly to the South West Thames Kidney Fund

I have a lasting memory of my Dad dancing to 'Tiger Feet' by Mudd when I was a young nipper, and I told him when he came up from recovery that it would be no time at all that he'd be back dancing on those Tiger Feet of his...

I am taking part in a number of events this year, along with colleagues and friends. Please do come and show your support at the following:

- PROPERTY TRIATHLON 25TH MAY, DORNEY LAKE WINDSOR

- WINDSOR 1500M OPEN WATER SWIM, 8TH JULY

- HAMPTON COURT TO KINGSTON 2.25M THAMES SWIM, 15TH JULY

- MARLOW 3K OPEN WATER SWIM, 26TH AUGUST

This cause is of course extremely close to my heart; so I would really appreciate if you could help me in thanking those who have made it all possible by helping to raise precious funds for the continuation of transplantation research and development.

Thank you all for your time, generosity and kindness, and if you can come down and support us at one or all of these events that would be spectacular!
