Story

On 13th APRIL I AM RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON  RAISING FUNDS FOR A PUBLIC ACCESS DEFIBRILLATOR FOR TREWOON.

FLEET’s challenge for 2014 is to see every town and village equipped with a Community Public Access Defibrillator (cPAD).

it is amazing how many people suffer a Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and how few survive. But training communities and providing them with defibrillators we can change that and save more lives.’

Defibrillation needs to occur very soon after the heart stops, research has shown that when it happens within 3 minutes, 70 in 100 of the victims can survive instead of the 5 in 100 at the moment.

Norman Trebilcock, General Manager of FLEET said, ‘This is a tremendous difference in survival rates, FLEET are determined to help our communities with training and equipment to improve survival rates.  It’s a huge project and we need all the support we can get.’

FLEET are also willing to attend groups of people who would like to learn CPR with Defibrillation free of charge but would like a donation for the cPAD appeal.
