Story
On the 14th May we will all be doing the Gung-Ho 5k Obstacle run in order to raise money for FPIES UK. FPIES UK is a very small charity but they support families who have children who suffer from FPIES (Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis), a condition that affect 1 in 300 children
but is diagnosed at a rate of 1 in 10,000. The charity is working tirelessly, with their world renowned medical board who donate their time, to raise the conditions awareness with GP’s, A&E departments, paediatricians and health visitors as the condition can be life threatening if mistreated.
My son has this condition so is obviously very close to my heart and the charity has supported us in so many ways; from guiding the consultants when we’ve been admitted to hospital; providing practical advice to
living with the condition; or even providing recipes to make amazing food with limited ingredients (my son can only eat five ingredients so I have to be fairly creative in the kitchen). I have even seen them help parents to make a fabulous birthday cake out of nothing but rice and beef (trust me – it looked amazing). The charity goes above and beyond to support families and the medical community to deal with this condition and it would be great to be able to support them in this small way.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
