Story
In 2012 I am planning to take on several challenges to raise money for The Haemophilia Society in Scotland. Those who know me will know that my husband has Haemophilia and had a major bleed in early 2011 and has been recovering from it all year. The support and help we received from The Haemophilia Centre in Edinburgh was life saving and it is difficult to say thank you in a big enough way to say how much we appreciate them. So this is my way of saying thank you to all the staff at The Haemophilia Centre in Edinburgh for saving a man who is a wonderful husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. My friend and colleague Tracey Joyce has volunteered to support me in this quest and has her own reasons for taking part. Those who know her will know that she is doing it "to prove a point"!
So what is our challenge?
I am (if I remain injury free) going to attempt to take part in The Rock and Roll Half Marathon in April, The Edinburgh Marathon in May and The Peebles Sprint Triathlon in June - and if I am still in one piece and make it to August then I might, might just give The Speyside Way Ultra Marathon a go in August!
Tracey's challenge is to (hopefully) cycle up Mont Ventoux (one of the classic rides of Le Tour de France) in April, The Peebles Sprint Triathlon in June and The Edinburgh to St Andrews Cycle Ride a week later!
So "twotacklethree" is what our challenge is. If you would like to support this madness then go to our Justgiving page (see link below) and sponsor us to make it to June (me August maybe) in one piece.
Tracey and I will keep this blog up to date to let you know how we are doing. We will put in training notes and race reports! Make us one of your favourites.
Thanks

Tracey's story
My reasons for doing this challenge is mainly due to stubborness! Having being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in October 2011 and having discussions about various medications I could be on, I decided 'enough of all that nonsense, I'll do it my way!' So, in order to improve my fitness I mentioned in passing to Jane that I may like to go running at lunchtime at Edinburgh's Telford College, where we both work. How that turned into this crazyness I have no idea, but I'm sure it'll be fun!!
