Story
The Concert
Following the successful 2013 Charity Concert , we have again organized an original and entertaining evening in London on October 20, 2015 in support of Kidney Research UK.
The concert will feature the Urban Voices Collective Choir who will sing a variety of popular contemporary and classical songs in their distinctive style. Born out of a desire to créate a unique sound which uses traditional gospel, with soulful harmonies, Urban Voices Collective, combine their rich vocals with a striking visual image.
We have chosen a programme which we believe will have broad appeal and which will be both uplifting and fun. The choir will compress around eighteen performers and with their sophisticated sould system we are hopeful that Urban Voices Collective will raise the roof!
The concert will last around 90 minutes and tickets are priced at £25 each which will include a glass of wine on arrival (doors open at 6.15pm) and there will be a cash bar at the interval.
Making EVERY Kidney Count Appeal
All the money raised from the charity concert and donations will be given to Kidney Research UK's 'Making EVERY Kidney Count' appeal; a fund developed to accelerate ground breaking research so that more people can benefit from a life-saving kidney transplant.
Through this appeal, the aim is to raise an additional £3 million over the next three years to fund research programmes that will increases the number of kidneys available for transplant and ensure the transplanted kidneys last longer. Kidney Research UK is the only charity to make this pledge and their expertise means they can select the best research specialists, working in the top institutes in the UK to speed up the pace of innovation.
More than 6,000 people, that's around 90% of the total organ waiting list are waiting for a kidney. Yet less than 3,000 transplants are carried out each year, and more than 350 people die whilst waiting. That's one person every day of the year.
