I will be running my first ever Marathon in the desert of Jordan. 
I will visit Egypt, Israel and Jordan and meet with refugee families who have fled Syria and Iraq and left their homes and livelihoods behind. 
The marathon will allow me the opportunity to personally talk to some of these families and let them know they are loved. 

It is estimated that 2 out of every 5 Syrian refugees are children under the age of 11. After seeing the daily press reports of 10's of thousands of refugees trying to escape Iraq and Syria, I can't think of a more pressing cause in need of our help.
