Match Funding from Vic Method and Denise Cooper, 3 September 2017
Xavier Project intends to expand their Tamuka Hubs in Kampala so that refugee children can enjoy learning in a safe place and refugee adults can learn the skills they need to support their livelihoods

Story

Vic Method and Denise Cooper have kindly offered to match any funding donated to this page up to £500. In particular we are trying to target guests of the wedding of Beau and Jennifer in South Africa because this was where Vic and Denise learnt about Xavier Project and decided they wanted to help them out.

The funds raised from this page will help Xavier Project to open safe learning spaces for refugees in Kampala. The centres will provide an education for refugee children who do not have adequate learning opportunities and adults who want to learn skills to successfully integrate into life in Uganda. Education is the most powerful tool to enable refugees to see and take up the opportunities around them, and reduce the chances that they will make perilous journeys further afield. Xavier Project relies on community fundraising initiatives like this to provide quality education to refugees living in East Africa who have fled their homes due to conflicts in the region.
