Story
Dad loved the Guernsey coast, loved a good walk and loved a party, so we thought we'd combine all three and raise money for his memorial fund at the University of Warwick.
Dad was diagnosed with advanced cancer last June but sadly, despite radiotherapy and chemotherapy, lost his hard fought battle in October. One of the worst aspects of his illness was the side effects of the chemotherapy.
It is particularly special to his family and friends that research led by the University of Warwick is finding better ways to deliver chemotherapy, which are more effective and less toxic, reducing the side-effects that so many patients suffer. It is this research group that the Simon McGrath Memorial Fund is supporting - please see the link below for more information.
We are raising money by taking on a 38 mile 'ramble' around the beautiful coastline of Guernsey, involving everything from beach walks to cliff climbs! Any donation that you can spare to support our walk and to help us towards our target would be hugely appreciated.
Furthermore, if anyone would like to join us for the weekend in Guernsey, either to take part in some or all of the walk or to support us and raise a pint to Dad in the evening, it would be lovely to have you there - just get in touch with one of us for more details!
Many thanks as always for all of your support...
Mary, Anna, Anthony, Madeleine and Chris, & Harriet and Ben
