Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are a group of parents, some bereaved, some not, aiming to raise funds for this fantastic Charity.  Our children are a blessing - so precious and to lose a son or daughter at any age is the worst loss of all - The Compassionate Friends are not a group that anyone wants to join but they have provided invaluable support to us and our families, helping us  reach the point where we are now, a point that many believed impossible at the time of our loss

On 21st May 2016, we are cycling from Bristol to Liverpool on the river and canal paths, a journey that will take us through 278 miles of paths over 6 or 7 days - padded pants and saddles at the ready!  We chose this week for the event,  as it would be George's 25th birthday on 24th May.  Our son  George was 17 when he was involved in a fatal road collision in 2008 but we will be cycling in memory of all our children, gone too soon.   Hopefully the weather will be kind and the paths not too overgrown!
