Story
Since the crisis first began in Syria (March 2011), hundreds of thousands of people have been killed. Many victims of this humanitarian crisis in Syria, are women and children and according to the UN reports, Syria is known to be the "most unsafe country in the world".
Due to the ongoing unrest in Syria, there have been reports of over 7 million people who have been recorded as internally displaced; and many more have fled the country creating the second largest refugee camp in the world.
The humanitarian aid getting into Syria is very limited, and what is more startling about the situation in Syria, is that water has become difficult to access and when it is available there is no guarantee of clean water, which can cause further problems, such as water borne diseases.
Water wells for life - Syria is an initiative put together by a group of sisters, who want to try and help support the humanitarian crisis in Syria, by building much needed water wells in areas of Syria, whereby there are severe shortages of water.
Water is a necessity for the preservation of human life; yet today in Syria people are dying from dehydration, and this is where we need your support!
We are aiming to raise £15,000 to allow us to build 2 water wells in Syria, in places where they are needed the most.
Our request to you is to get at least 150 brothers and sisters to come forward to donate £100, which can be donated as a continuous charity (sadaqa e jariyah- Please note Zakah is not available for this project. Any other amount is also welcome) via SKT Welfare.
Please help us to help them insha'Allah
