If we are each able to complete the course in less 6 hours (which requires a steady speed of 27kmph up and down the hills!) a combination of Reed Smith and David Boutcher, the Chair of Reed Smith's Business & Finance Department and Trustee of Theirworld, have very kindly agreed to match whatever we are able to raise, up to £2,000!!!

Theirworld – originally known as PiggyBankKids – began 14 years ago with the creation of a fund to support small projects in the UK enabling dedicated health professionals and scientists to pioneer their ideas to help new-borns and young children, and to supporting mentoring for young people. Since then the charity’s work has grown to a global scale with the expansion of its research to create the award-winning Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory investigating pregnancy and premature birth problems, and the new Theirworld Edinburgh Birth Cohort that will monitor the lives of a number of children over a period of years.

Theirworld also leads a number of campaigns to create global change and bring better health and education to the world’s most vulnerable children. Through various programmes and initiatives, Theirworld endeavour to help as many children as possible: from those vulnerable babies whose lives could be saved with the right medical advances, to those kids and young people who have the hardest start in life and need greater support and encouragement.

Reed Smith has been a long standing supporter of Theirworld and David Boutcher has been a Trustee of the charity since its inception in 2002. The firm has staged the Annual Reed Smith Quiz to help raise funds, which we know many of you will have attended, and enjoyed, as well as the firms continued support of the Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory and the A World at School campaign, both run by Theirworld.
