Story
Your support is urgently needed to help introduce more people to wildlife at the Wolseley Centre
Since opening in 2003 the Wolseley Centre has been visited over one million times! This is a staggering number of people that have chosen to visit somewhere that doesn’t offer thrills, rides and overpriced refreshments, but instead offers natural tranquillity and a chance to enjoy life at a slower pace. The Wolseley Centre is a special place for so many people; a favourite place to bring the children or grandchildren; an escape from today’s fast paced lifestyle; and somewhere that is full of wildlife, including the kingfishers that have put on a real show throughout the last twelve months.
Almost twelve years on from opening and the hundreds of thousands of vehicles that have passed through the gates have taken their toll on the driveway and car park. The potholes have developed potholes and action must be taken to upgrade the surface.
It was therefore wonderful to receive the news in mid-2014 that a long time funder of the Trust is willing to put a very significant amount of money towards the project. In fact we have a pledge of £100,000 towards the £125,000 we need to completely replace the drive and car park with a surface that will last for many years to come.
Time is not on our side, much of the work needs to be completed before Easter to avoid disrupting the busy spring and summer season.
Please help us to raise the last £25,000 and enable even more people to discover their love for wildlife at the Wolseley Centre
As a special thank you for everyone who donates more than £25 to the appeal we will send you a 10” x 8” print of the Wolseley Kingfishers (see image). This wonderful photograph was taken by Don Hancox, a Trust member and gives a glimpse of Wolseley’s wonderful wildlife.
Thank you for your support
