Working with Wonford
01/07/2015 12-3pm Wonford House, Dryden Road, Exeter, EX2 5AF
Working with Wonford is going to be Devon Partnership NHS Trust's biggest event this summer. This July the 1st, we will be 'Working With Wonford' to strengthen our ties and build relationships with our neighbours in Wonford, Exeter! Mental health affects every aspect of our lives and our communities. At Devon Partnership NHS Trust, we want to break down mental health stigma and discrimination and make mental health as easy to talk about as a broken leg, for example.
How it began
Last year, people who use our services teamed up with some Exeter-based Community Team staff to create the Together Let's Communicate (T.L.C.) Community Group! The group started meeting to share their craft skills and support each other in Recovery. One day, after meeting at various places, one of the members of the group spoke to a local councillor who was able to help arrange a venue. Since then, the ties with the Wonford Community have blossomed even more. The T.L.C. Community Group teamed up with Wonford Community Organiser Sue Bulled to put on a Christmas market, and had a very successful cake sale last month. Through collaboration, we have achieved great things together with residents in our area. Working with Wonford is a celebration of what we can achieve together with our neighbours.
Our Cause
At Devon Partnership NHS Trust we provide mental health and learning disability services to a population of 890.000 people. We provide care to more than 19,000 people at any one time. Your donations will sustain the Trust's charitable work, benefitting people in Wonford and throughout Devon. The donations will be split 50:50 between the Trust's Special Charitable Fund and to support the continuation of the Together Let's Communicate (T.L.C.) Community Group.
Thank you for your generosity. See you in July!
