WSA WELSH 3000 CHALLENGE
Firstly, a big thank you for all the sponsorship money that has flooded in.
As you know the team should now be well on their way to completing the challenge, unfortunately this is not so. After travelling across to Snowdonia yesterday evening and being greeted by the sight of torrents of water flooding down the mountainsides and a forecast of 60kph winds for Saturday the difficult decision was made to postpone the challenge until later in the year. Safety was always going to be the number one priority and, for those of you that know Crib Goch, 60 kph winds and that mountain do not make safe conditions.
We stayed in Snowdonia overnight. It was too wet and windy to put up tents so 4 adults and 2 children in the caravan was quite cosy! It didn't stop raining at all in the time we were, 1 minute outside the caravan ensured you were thoroughly soaked. The wind buffeted the caravan all night but didn't manage to blow us over (as I thought it might at times). We were very thankful of being in the caravan this morning as we watched others packing away their rain sodden tents as we were cooking our bacon butties.
So thank you once again for your support and we will let you know when attempt number 2 is to take place.
