Story
10 years ago we lost our beloved younger sister in a car accident. Anne-Marie, as those of you who knew her, was a bright, vibrant and energetic spirit with an unforgettable smile.
She was also a sufferer of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). She once said, "You will never know what it feels like to have this going on in your head".
Listed amongst the top 10 most debilitating illnesses by the World Health Organisation in terms of loss of income and decreased quality of life, the disorder touches many peoples lives around the world.
We wanted to raise awareness and as much money as possible for OCD-UK with their objective of making a positive and meaningful difference in the everyday lives of people affected by Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, by providing accessible and effective support and advocacy services and by campaigning for improved access and quality treatment and care for people with OCD.
Darren is a veteran marathon runner (one race 12 years ago, though it was a memorable one in which a world record for passing a rugby ball was set). Charlotte detests running and prior to January of this year, had run one mile - this is her second half marathon this year.
So 10 years on, we will run in memory of Anne-Marie and hopefully through our fund raising efforts provide some much needed support to those living with OCD.
