Story

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah

Welcome to Al-Khair Foundation Zakat page on JustGiving.

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. Every Muslim must pay 2.5% Zakat on his or her savings. This works out at £25 for every £1,000.

Savings include cash you have at home, in bank accounts (current and saving accounts with banks, building societies and the Post Office) and investments such as shares and bonds. Gold and silver jewellery is also liable for zakat even if its for your personal use.

To understand how to calculate Zakat, watch the video below, then too work out 2.5% of your wealth, you can use the zakat calculator on our website:

http://iqratv.azurewebsites.net/?page_id=13381

You can donate your zakat anonymously through JustGiving if you choose. You just need to  follow the normal donation process. Enter your payment details as usual. Then, under ‘Set your Contact Preferences’, leave the two boxes unticked.

Allah has blessed some people with wealth and also entrusted them to use their wealth as charity to help the poor. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity." (Tirmidhi)

Donate with Confidence,

May Allah reward you.

Jazakumullah Khair
